Paying for your project

Financing: pay for the work over time

Not every job should come out of savings at once. We offer financing through Wisetack, so you can start the work now and pay for it on a schedule that suits you.

What we actually offer

Financing through Wisetack, not from us

We are a contractor, not a lender. The money comes from Wisetack’s lending partners, who specialise in home-improvement work. We give you the link and get on with the job — your terms are between you and them, and we never see your financial details.

0% for 3 months, or longer terms up to 10 years

If you can clear it quickly, the three-month option costs you nothing extra. If you would rather spread it out, terms run as long as ten years. Which offers you qualify for depends on your own situation, and you see them before you commit to anything.

Checking takes about two minutes

And it does not affect your credit score

Checking what you qualify for is a soft enquiry. It does not show up as a hard pull and it does not move your score. You can look at the numbers, decide they are not for you, and walk away with nothing changed.

You see real terms before you decide

You are not applying blind. The options that come back are yours, with the monthly figure and the length spelled out, and nothing happens until you accept one.

How it fits with the work

The deposit first, financing for the rest

Massachusetts caps a contractor’s deposit at one third of the contract price, and we keep to that. You pay the deposit directly; financing then covers the remaining balance. That is why we talk about financing once the deposit is settled rather than before.

Projects from $2,000 up

Below that the paperwork costs more than it saves, so small jobs are simply billed normally. Above it, financing is worth a look — particularly on a kitchen, a bathroom or a full interior, where the whole scope is better done at once than in pieces over three years.

What it does not change

The price is the price

Our written estimate is the same number whether you pay by check, by card or through financing. We do not add a surcharge for using it, and we do not quote a different figure to people who ask about it.

And the work is the work

Same crew, same materials, same schedule. Financing is a payment arrangement, nothing more.

FAQ

Does checking my options hurt my credit score?

No. Checking what you qualify for is a soft enquiry — it does not appear as a hard pull and it does not affect your score.

Who is actually lending the money?

Wisetack’s lending partners. We are the contractor; we never see your financial information and we are not party to the loan.

Is there a minimum project size?

Yes — $2,000. Below that we simply invoice the work normally.

Can I finance the deposit as well?

No. The deposit is paid directly and financing covers the remaining balance. Massachusetts caps a contractor’s deposit at one third of the contract price, and we keep to that.

Does financing make the job cost more?

Not from us. Our estimate is the same number however you pay. Any interest depends on the term you choose, and 0% is available over three months.

What if I am not approved?

Then nothing changes — we talk about a payment schedule instead. Approval is decided by the lender, not by us, and we cannot promise it either way.

Financing subject to approval by Wisetack’s lending partners. Terms are shown at application time. Ed’s Renovation LLC is not a lender, does not make credit decisions, and receives no part of any interest you pay.
