How we cover this area
The shop is in West Springfield, and almost everything on this list is inside half an hour of it. That is deliberate. A contractor who drives ninety minutes to a job either charges you for the drive or stops showing up on time — usually both.
Inside this area there is no trip charge, and if we are already working on your street we can often look at your project the same week.
What changes from town to town
The work is the same, the houses are not, and that is what moves a price:
- Springfield, Holyoke, Chicopee — a lot of 1900s to 1930s stock. Plaster over lath, floors out of level, surprises behind the walls. Pricing has to allow for that.
- Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Wilbraham — mid-century and newer, bigger rooms, more full-kitchen and basement work.
- Agawam, Southwick, Westfield — a wide mix, plus more exterior work: siding, decks, porches.
- Northern Connecticut — Enfield, Suffield, Windsor and their neighbours. Same crew, same pricing, we just cross the line.
What we do once we get there
All eleven services run across every one of these towns — bathrooms, kitchens, basements, flooring, drywall and paint and the rest. The full list is on the services page, and the portfolio shows how they turned out.
Questions we get
Is there a trip charge?
No, not anywhere in the nineteen towns listed on this page. The drive is our cost, not yours.
I am just outside your area. Will you still come?
Ask. If we are already working nearby, or if the job is big enough to be worth the drive, we often will. A ten-minute call settles it.
How quickly can you come and look?
Usually within a few days, and often the same week. The walk-through itself takes twenty to thirty minutes for most jobs.
Do you work in both states?
Yes. Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration #216217, and we work regularly across the line in Northern Connecticut.
Do you know the older housing stock here?
That is most of what we do. Springfield and Holyoke are full of houses from the 1900s to the 1930s — plaster walls, knob-and-tube leftovers, floors that are not level. We price for what is actually there.
